This is an exquisite World War II United States Army Air Forces pilot wing in shimmering silver bullion. The wing was made in the China-Burma-India theatre and has a pin-back.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 3-1/32" in width by 7/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silk embroidered in bullion threads, paper, plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:British kick (Y) pin with C catch, holes in plate where wing is attached.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBBEX12 L/SDGEX2/12
CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing shows some light wear only and spots of tarnish on the reverse.
