Description

ARTIFACT:

Early WWII era San Francisco, California Special Police badge from Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation (Bethlehem Steel Company). The large, convex six point star shaped badge shows the number: "95" in the center and surrounding it reads: "SAN FRANCISCO B.S.C. SPECIAL POLICE". The reverse features a maker's mark that reads: "IRVINE JACHENS S.F."

VINTAGE:

Circa early WWII.

SIZE:

Approximately 3" in height x 3" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel plated nickel, black paint.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with 'C' type catch.

MARKINGS:

"IRVINE & JACHENS S.F."

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine—Excellent): The badge shows moderate wear, some of the nickel plating and much of the black painted detail remains intact, overall very fine condition.
