ARTIFACT:

This is a great, large, early WWII Chinese Blood Chit. It was made of dyed & inked multi-piece leather, for wear by a US Airman, most likely in India or Burma, as the characters were NOT inked on by anyone who had intimate knowledge of Chinese script! They are quite bizarre and amusing!

Sadly the Chit was folded for many years in a slightly moist atmosphere, so the red from the flag has left its mark on the white area below.

A nice addition to any Blood Chit / Rescue Patch collection.

VINTAGE: World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 10-1/2" in height x 8-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Dyed & inked multi-piece leather

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn on.

MARKINGS:

來華助戰: Come to China to help
洋人(美國):    Foreigner (American)
軍民一體: Military-civilian integration
救護:        Rescue,  Help
航空委員会: Aviation Commission
第 號:            No.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII Blood Chit collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-DHJ-25-16 LDIEX07/21/22

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine - Very Fine) I would grade this much higher, as it has little wear or soiling, but I av to take into account the staining.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
