This is an early World War II United States Coast Guard recruitment poster. The poster is graphic and brilliantly colored, with a "Remember Pearl Harbor" theme.
This poster came to us originally period-mounted on board, in a period frame. An interested buyer backed out once they realized the poster was mounted on board.
Finally, we found an amazing poster restoration shop, and gave them the poster to make better then original.
The poster was safely and professionally removed from the board, and mounted to museum grade linen.
The poster now looks like a million bucks!
We are making this listing "live" again, but have not had time to make new images. We will do so in late March or early April if it makes it back form the upcoming big shows.
Circa early World War II, 1942.
Poster itself: Approximately 40-1/2" in height and 27-7/8" in width. Measurements with linen backing to be added soon.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silk Screen printed paper, mounted on linen.
C.G.A.B. NO. 8.
This is from a WWII United States Coast Guard paper collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VHJX10 LCEJX3/11 SCEJX8/13 R/SLCHEX4/14 Hd6/14 TLGGEX02/19 psTLGIEX02/19 SGIEX02/19
7 (Very Fine): The poster has no fading or rips and some light (moisture?) stains near both the top and bottom.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
