This is an early 1970s squadron patch made for the United States Navy's 11th Helicopter Scouting Squadron by ACE Novelty. The squadron assisted in the recovery missions for Apollo 14 and Skylab III based on the USS New Orleans. The patch shows a fire-breathing sea serpent and a thunderbolt against a split daytime and nighttime sky.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1970s.
SIZE:5" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered patch with multi-colored cotton threads.
