Description
This is a United States Marine Corps helicopter grouping of two patches, two name tags and photographs. The larger patch is American-made and shows a flying cat with binoculars Ð it reads VMO-6 (for Marine Observation Squadron 6). The smaller patch is Japanese-made and shows an eagle flying with two flags - it reads SOUTH VIET NAM 1962-63 HMM-163 (for Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 163). Each leather name tag is painted in gold with an eagle, anchor and globe and reads J.J. GRIFFITH CPL. USMC. There are also a total of 31 small photographs of craft and a yard long photo of the VMO-6 squadron.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1960s.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Two patches, one fully-embroidered and one on twill embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads; photographs on Kodak paper; painted leather name tag; yard long photo.
MARKINGS:Photos have various number stamps.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Items are in various conditions but overall are very fine (yard long is in inferior shape to the rest of the items, but still good).
