Description
This is a circa late 1950s New Hampshire National Guard Headquarters flag that originally belonged to Major General John Jacobsen. Major General Jacobsen was a first-generation American born in Manchester, New Hampshire to Swedish parents in 189He served in both World Wars, becoming a Captain of the New Hampshire National Guard beginning in the 1920s. He eventually rose to become its Adjutant General, retiring on September 14, 195He passed away in 197The flag is high quality and is in excellent condition. The center logo of the flag is in painted canvait is two pine branches crossed behind a beribboned bunch of arrows. The center is flanked by two white muslin stars, all against a field of blue. The flag has double grommets at each end, the set-up being such that it can be flown on a pole with a winch or indoors directly on a pole.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 35-1/2" in height and 50" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Canvas, woven cotton, painted canvas, pieced muslin, wooden slat sewn inside canvas edge, double metal grommets on each side.
ATTACHMENT:Two grommets, sleeve in end with wooden slat.
