Description
This is a hardcover copy of "Detached Flight: The Book of No. 1 B.F.T.S. Vol. VI" yearbook for the No. 1 British Flight Training School. Early in the war, Royal Air Force pilots trained at civilian flight training schools in the United States, and after Pearl Harbor they were joined by American cadets as well. The No. 1 B.F.T.S. was at Terrell, Texas. This volume has an inscription on the front endpapers, and the cadet Maxwell (above) may possibly be related to the "Mrs. Maxwell" in the inscription. The book has several black-and-white photographs as well as some illustrations. This yearbook is the sixth volume out of six published: we also have Volume V available for sale (please see link at the bottom of the page for more information).
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:About 60 pages; approximately 10-3/4" in height and 8" in width and 3/8" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Embossed cloth-bound cover, paper.
ATTACHMENT:Glued binding.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The book has no rips or writing inside (except for the inscription) and only some light aging; only some light wear to the cover.
