Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa late 1942 United States Army Air Forces navigator wing in sterling silver by Gemsco. This is an early wing in a two-piece construction: the navigator center is soldered on over an observer wing.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1942 (World War II).

SIZE:

Approximately 7/8" in height and 3-1/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Two-piece construction; sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under swivel locking catch.

MARKINGS:

STERLING (very faint).

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The wing has some areas of light to medium wear/tarnish.
