ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1972-1975 1st officer wing for Continental Air Services Inc. (CASI). CASI was begun in 1965 as a line strictly for United States governmental business in southeast Asia. The badge has the Continental logo at its center and is embroidered in gold bullion threads.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1972-1975.
SIZE:
Approximately 7/8" in height and 3-3/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silk-wrapped cardboard embroidered with bullion and cotton/silk threads, gilt brass, wool backing.
ATTACHMENT:
Two posts with clutch-backs.
MARKINGS:
None.
