ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1959-1967 1st officer wing for Continental Air Services Inc. (CASI). CASI was begun in 1965 as a line strictly for United States governmental business in southeast Asia. The wing has the Continental logo in silver and gold at its center and is embroidered in gold bullion threads.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1959-1967.
SIZE:
Approximately 1" in height and 3-5/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silk-wrapped cardboard embroidered with bullion and cotton/silk threads, gilt and nickel-plated brass, wool backing.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
