ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1950 truck driver cap badge for the Columbia Gas System. Established in 1906 in West Virginia as Columbia Gas Corporation, the company changed its name to Columbia Gas System in 1948 after suffering through an antitrust suit. This badge is rectangular and very nicely enameled in cobalt blue.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1950.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Chrome-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Single screw post with disc backing, one stabilization pin.
