ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1920s pin for the Yellowstone Park Hotels. Many hotels were set up within Yellowstone, the world's first national park, which was christened in 1872. The design of the pin, which features a black bear within a blue circle, looks to be made of a paper overlay covering a celluloid body. It is by Western Badge & Novelty Company of St. Paul, Minnesota.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid, paper, paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Straight pin with loop catch.

MARKINGS: WESTERN BADGE & NOV. CO. JOHN A. DETHERT, PROP. BADGES BANNERS BUTTONS ST. PAUL MINN, union mark.
