Description
This is a circa 1900 souvenir mug from Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The mug is small but substantial - almost like a miniature stein - and was made in Germany. A medallion on the front of the mug shows the house of Thomas Bailey Aldrich, Portsmouth native and among other vocations, author of "The Story of a Bad Boy". The medallion on the reverse shows the Jackson House, New Hampshire's oldest wooden house, still standing today. The mug holds about 1/8 of a liter, or four ounces.
