ARTIFACT: This is a lapel pin for the Air Line Stewards and Stewardesses Association (ALSSA), which formed in 1946 as part of the still active Air Line Pilots Association. ALSSA merged with the all female ALSA in 1949 and then changed its name to Association of Flight Attendants in 1974. The pin is a petite wing with a globe at its center bearing the letters ALSSA.

VINTAGE: Circa 1946.

SIZE: Approximately 1/4" in height and 3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: Union mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airlines collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX00 LDHX6/11 SDHX2/15

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The pin shows some light to medium wear and tarnish.
