Description

ARTIFACT: Circa 1958 CECO 20 year service pin in 10K gold. The Chandler Evans Company was founded by Milton Chandler in 1938. The company designed, manufactured, and sold aircraft engine fuel-control parts to both civilian and military aircraft manufacturers. The company’s parts were used in historical aircraft, such as Cyclone engines used by both the United States Navy in their DC-3s. Howard Hughes operated the Super Electra Lockheed “14” during his historic trip around the globe, which contained CECO fuel/carburetor controls. CECO engine parts were also used by the US Army in C-47s and B-25 attack bombers. The company is now known as Triumph Engine Control Systems. The service pin is in the shape of a wing and shows blue enameled letters: “CECO”. The base of the pin features a pearl and surrounding it reads: “20 YEARS SERVICE” in black enamel. The reverse shows a nice maker’s mark, an “H” inside a square and reads “10K”.
