Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1930s pin from Tau Zeta Epsilon, the Arts & Music Society of Wellesley College for women. Formed in 1889 to provide supplemental arts education, one of the society's notable graduates was Madame Chiang Kai Shek. The delicate pin is in 14 karat gold with enameled lettering, and is in the shape of the society's crest: a winged wheel.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 5/8" in height and 9/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

14 karat gold, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

14K.
