Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an unidentified bronze medal by Medallic Art Company of Danbury, Connecticut. The medal hangs from a red ribbon and reads FLYING CIRCUS LEGION OF HONOR with a pair of wings in relief below. Medallic Art moved from New York to Danbury in 1972.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1972 or later.

SIZE:

Approximately 15-3/4" in length total (on ribbon when snaps are fastened) and 1-3/4" in diameter and 3/16"in thickness (medal).

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bronze, silk/polyester, plated brass ring, metal snaps.

ATTACHMENT:

Suspension ring, ribbon, two snaps.

MARKINGS:

MEDALLIC ART CO., DANBURY, CT. - BRONZE on edge and H-6 on front.

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent-): The medal has very little wear and a nice tarnish.
