Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful and rare Royal Air Force Transport Command wing from World War II. From its inception on March 25, 1943 through the end of the war, the RAF Transport Command oversaw all transport aircraft as well as dropping paratroopers from the Army Cooperation Command. The wing is by Murphy in sterling silver with a nicely enameled cobalt blue center. The wings are slightly curved and have an undulating effect.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1" in height and 2-5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Two screw posts with disc backings.

MARKINGS:

STERLING MURPHY.
