This is a beautiful late World War II War Merit Cross 1st class with swords by Steinhauer & Luck (maker's mark 4). The War Merit Cross was one step below the Iron Cross, and the version with swords and was awarded to enlistees who demonstrated service above the call of duty (civilians could receive the cross without swords).
VINTAGE:Circa late World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-15/16" height and 1-15/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass or tombak.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical T-style pin with C catch.
