Description
Beautiful, highly detailed WWI United States Army Motor Transport Corps enlisted collar disk. The American Expeditionary Forces deployed to France realized the need for one individual to manage all transportation and The Motor Transport Corps was established as a separate arm of the National Army and was tasked with maintaining all motor vehicles/trucks. This example is unusual, as the tire tread, air valve, and other aspects of the wheel are all visible with the winged helmet emblem in the center.
