ARTIFACT: Beautiful, highly detailed WWI United States Army Motor Transport Corps enlisted collar disk. The American Expeditionary Forces deployed to France realized the need for one individual to manage all transportation and The Motor Transport Corps was established as a separate arm of the National Army and was tasked with maintaining all motor vehicles/trucks. This example is unusual, as the tire tread, air valve, and other aspects of the wheel are all visible with the winged helmet emblem in the center.

VINTAGE: Circa WWI.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Blackened bronze.

ATTACHMENT: Single post with screwback and two stabilizing pins.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay MDX11 LGEX1/16 hldSFHX10/20

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The collar disk shows moderate surface wear, handsome patina, overall very fine condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
