ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1910s inspector badge from the Lowell Gas Light Company of Lowell, Massachusetts. The company was established in 1849, and the brick building built as its headquarters in 1859 has recently been refurbished as office space. The badge is beautifully enameled in yellow and white and is numbered 72. The badge was made by John Robbins Company of Boston and has a maker mark on reverse.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1910's.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-7/8" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with forked locking catch.
