Description

ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful bronze letter opener advertising Pacific Mutual, an old California-based life insurance company that is now known as Pacific Life. The opener was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey. Its lower section is fashioned into the likeness of a redwood tree trunk, the center of the opener reads depicts a profile of the president and reads: "George I. Cochran, President Pacific Mutual Grant of the Pacific".

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4” in width (at bottom) and 9-3/8” in length.

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Bronze.
