Description
Beautiful antique Tibetan silver encrusted, 'left-turning' conch shell horn or Shankha. The ornately decorated shell features natural, bezel set coral and turquoise stones. The lovely silverwork depicts deep engraving that show a variety of animals, i.e. a boar, snake, armadillo, elk, monkey, and more. The base end has a quarter-sized round, deep colored piece of bezel set turquoise ??? said to represent energy. The conch shell horn features two silver rings for attachment/carrying. The Shankha is displayed in Hindu art in association with Vishnu, as a symbol of water, associated with female fertility and serpents.
