ARTIFACT: Beautiful 1940 Flying A Gasoline/Tide Water Associated Oil Co. 15 year service pin in 14K gold. Tide Water was established in New York in 1887 and after acquisitions and mergers, became the Tide Water Associated Oil Co. in the 1930's. Flying A was Tide Water's primary brand name for the company. The center of the pin shows a red enameled, winged letter "A" with a raised plate showing the number "15" above and the outer edge reads: "TIDE WATER ASSOCIATED OIL CO." The reverse is named and dated: "A. BOETTINGER 7 - 29 - 40"

VINTAGE: Circa 1940.

SIZE: Approximately 1/2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: 14K gold, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking catch.

MARKINGS: "A. BOETTINGER 7 - 29 - 40", Maker's mark, "14K"

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The pin shows minor to moderate wear, nearly all the enamel detail remains intact, overall excellent condition.
