ARTIFACT:
Beautiful, sterling Athletics Medal, 101st Signal Battalion, New York National Guard 1932 Swimming Plunge medal. The enameled planchet displays a blue enameled circle in the center that reads: "101" with the battalion's insignia behind decorated in red and white enamel with a torch in the center. The medal reads: "ATHLETICS SWIMMING PLUNGE 1932" in blue enamel detail and is suspended from an orange, white, and black striped ribbon.

CONDITION:
6+ (Fine - Very Fine): The medal shows moderate to heavy wear, light soiling and moderate wear to ribbon on reverse surrounding pinback, some of the plating details and nearly all the enamel details remain intact.
