ARTIFACT:
This is a first edition hardcover copy of "Per Ardua Ad Astra: 70 Years with the RFC and the RAF" by Michael Donne and Squadron Leader Cynthia Fowler. The book takes its title from the Royal Air Force motto, which translates to "Through Adversity to the Stars". The book covers the time from the Royal Flying Corps' birth by royal decree in 1912 until the publication of the book. It has several black and white photographs, some colorized. The book comes with its original dust jacket and was published by Frederick Muller Limited of London.
