ARTIFACT:
This is a hardcover 1942 first edition copy of "Wings of War ??? An Air Force Anthology", edited by F.A. Walbank. The book is a history of Britain's Royal Air Force, with a foreword by the then Secretary of State for Air. The text contains many examples of thoughtful prose and poetry to compliment the history. The first page is inscribed to an E. Martin Morin(?) and signed by him.
VINTAGE:
Published 1942 (World War II).
SIZE:
164 pages including black and white illustrations. Approximately 8-3/8" in height and 7" in width and 3/4" in thickness.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Embossed cloth-bound cover, thick, textured paper with rough cut edges.
ATTACHMENT:
Glued binding.
MARKINGS:
"To Martin, With love and best wishes for 24th September 1945, From Mom & Pop Letchworth _ E. Martin Morin(?)" written on first page; First Published, Winter 1942 Made and Printed in Great Britain for the publishers, B.T. Batsford Ltd., London by Unwin Brothers Ltd., Woking.
