This is a 1993 reprint of "The Mighty Eighth: A History of the Units, Men and Machines of the US 8th Air Force" by Roger A. Freeman. The 8th Air Force was created in 1942 and was instrumental in defeating the Luftwaffe. Originally published in 1970 in the United Kingdom, "The Mighty Eighth" was first published in the US in 1991: this edition was published in 1993 by Motorbooks International of Osceola, Wisconsin. The book has many black and white photographs, including several nose art shots, and many pages of color aircraft illustrations. The history is supplemented with some statistics in the back. The dust jacket has been doing its job as this book is in excellent condition.
