Description
1976 United States Army 7th Combat Support Hospital Lithophane Stein from Pirmasens, Germany and is named to "SP/6 DAVID E. HART" with the images of a rooster, caduceus, and Maltese cross in vibrant painted detail. One side reads: "7th COMBAT SPT. HOSPITAL REPACK TEAM" in gold lettering and in the center, painted distinctive insignia. The insignia is made up of blue star in the center of a Maltese cross in white surrounded by maroon, which was formerly used as the Branch insignia of the Army Medical Department. The other side of the stein depicts a coat of arms and reads: "PIRMASENS". The top of the stein features an ornately embellished hinged pewter lid and the bottom features a risqu lithophane of a scantily clad beauty. In September 1976 the Combat Support Hospital was relocated from Darmstadt to Pirmasens and joined with the USAMMCE (United States Army Medical Material Center, Europe).

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The lithophane shows minor to moderate wear and the base shows a small pin hole in the center of a spider crack, nearly all of the painted details remain intact.
