ARTIFACT:
This is a history of the United States Navy Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 341 (VMSB-341) compiled over several years but published in the 1970s. It was written by John M. Elliott, Major USMC (Retired), who served with the 341st from July 1943 until April 1945. The 341st was part of Marine Fleet Air, West Coast, and first saw action at Bougainville Island at Papua New Guinea. This is a collection of mimeographed pages with a few photographs as well as drawings of the squadron's Disney-designed turtle insignia, "Toby Tortoise". There are also copies of memos, a list of COs, awards, and a chronology.
