Description
This is a factory engraved Zippo for Leadolene Klingfast. This type lighter was given to customers of the Brooks Oil Company Cleveland, Ohio. The Brooks Oil Company was founded in 1876 in Cleveland producing gasoline and lubricants. In the 1920s Brooks started production of Leadolene a high pressure industrial lubricant for steel mills and other industrial plants. Gasoline production and service stations were phased out. After Leadolene came Klingfast, Barcote other roll oil products and forging and drawing compounds. The main plant was located on East 87th Street Cleveland and may be operating today as the Brooks Technology Company. In the late 1960s the Brooks Oil Company was purchased by the Premier Industrial Corporation.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome plated steel with painted details.
MARKINGS:See image of lighter bottom. Zippo block letter logo with "2517" patent #.
ITEM NOTES:Has original insert with copper donut-hole rivet on flint wheel. (RHJV06)
CONDITION:Very fine+: Wear to finish is very light. Paint is about 85% present, very good for a steel bodied Zippo.
