ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1950s jacket patch made for the United States Air Force's 509th Bomb Wing. 

The patch shows a shield with an Atomic Bomb Mushroom Cloud between 2 wings, above the words DEFENSOR VINDEX.

VINTAGE: Circa 1950's.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton patch embroidered with multi-colored cotton threads and muslin backing.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Air Force patch collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBX09 LHEX12/09 SLADEX05/06/21

CONDITION: 6 (Fine +): Patch is in good condition, but soiled from wear.
