Description
This is a circa 1950s "Iron Claw" police restraint, or come-along. This is Version 5 of this restraint, and it was manufactured by Argus-Jay Pee of New York City. The restraint would hang from a holster on a police officer's belt until it was time to slip it around an unfortunate's wrist and secure him with a few twists of the handle. The serial number (2684) is stamped beneath the words THE IRON CLAW.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 5-1/2" in length and 3-7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:T-handle with threaded locking sleeve.
