ARTIFACT: This is a 1950s Communist Poland badge reading SZMW, for Socjalistyczny Zwiazek Mlodziezy Wojskowej (Socialist Military Youth Association). The badge is a sword enameled in red and white encircled by a wreath.

VINTAGE: Circa 1950s.

SIZE: 1-1/4" height and 11/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: Maker's mark and MET on reverse of badge and MENNICA PANSTWOWA on backing.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a foreign collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until identified. VEX05 LCHX2/11

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has some light abrasions and a small area of discoloration on the enamel and moderate tarnish.
