ARTIFACT: This is a 1945 copy of "From the Volturno to the Winter Line" published Military Intelligence Division of the US War Department. Originally published in 1944, this book deals with the movements of the American VI Corps of the 5th Army, who after capturing Naples repelled the German Army over the Volturno River. The support of the British in this mission is also discussed. The book has black and white photographs and a large fold-out map. The inside of the front cover has a 1950 Lincolnville, Maine postal stamp and is signed by a former owner.

VINTAGE: Published 1944.

SIZE: 119 pages; approximately 9" in height x 5-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: 1950 Lincolnville, Maine postal stamp inside cover and signed C.F.(?) Hopper; U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 1945.
