This is a 1945 Evans lighter with a factory-applied insignia for the United States National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, which existed from 1915 until 1958.
NACA became NASA in 1958.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1945.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" in height x 1-3/8" in width and 1/2" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:To be carried in pocket to light your smokes.
MARKINGS:EVANS U.S. PAT. EXP. JUNE 12, 1952.
