Description
This is a first edition of "Lychgate: The Entrance to the Path", published in 1945 by Air Chief Marshal Lord Dowding. Dowding, about to retire in June 1939, was urged to stay on and serve for an additional nine months. His term exceeded that, and encompassed the Battle of Britain in the fall of 1940. Dowding, ever careful and protective of his men, was removed from his post in November 1940. He died in 1970. Lychgate is a work in spiritualism, a topic explored and written about in several books by Dowding after his retirement.
