ARTIFACT: This is a 1943 edition of a French/English travel guide to Casablanca, the capital of Morocco (Guides Maroc Presse). This copy is named to Staff Sergeant Paul G. Humphrey, United States 5th Army. Humphrey noted that he was in town for conferences attended by Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. The guide has a large (22" x 28") fold-out street map, some black and white photographs, city information and several period ads. It was published in its original form in 1935. We have another booklet owned by S/Sgt Humphrey for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for more information).

VINTAGE: Published 1943.

SIZE: 52 pages with a 22" x 28" fold-out street map; approximately 8-1/4" in height and 4-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover; paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: "Staff Sergeant Paul G. Humphrey 33026080 United States Fifth Army in N. Africa" written inside front cover; more writing inside back cover; IMP. REUNIES, CAS VISA CENSURE No 9540 - 3-43 on back cover.

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): The book has some heavy wear to its cover and some creasing and very small tears on the inside pages, along with a limited amount of handwriting.
