Description
This is a circa 1940s polling station national flag with 48 stars from the City of Los Angeles. The flag comes with its original storage tube. Some writing on the front of the flag has been painted over: these were instructions on how to hang it. The flags were distributed to citizens and were meant to be brought back to the Clerk's Office with their completed election return.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 33-1/4" in height and 26" in width (including dowel).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Pieced canvas/linen and cotton muslin embroidered in cotton/silk thread, wood, string; cardboard, paper label.
ATTACHMENT:String, dowel.
