Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1940s Pittsfield, New Hampshire Fire Department retirement badge for Frank Tilton: he was with the Department for 37 years. Pittsfield is situated on the Suncook Rover in Merrimack County. The badge has enameled lettering and shows firefighting equipment at its center.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

Patent number on bar.
