Description
ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1940s pin in enameled 14 karat gold for thirty years of service with the Hoover Vacuum Company. This company, whose brand name became a household synonym for the act of vacuuming itself, was started in North Canton, Ohio in 1900's. The pin is by Balfour and reads IBAISAIC, the acronym for the Hoover slogan "IT BEATS AS IT SWEEPS AS IT CLEANS".
VINTAGE: Circa 1940s.
SIZE: Approximately 7/16" in height and 3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: 14 karat gold, enamel.
ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization post.
MARKINGS: M-209 LGB (Balfour maker mark)-14K THE HOOVER CO. NORTH CANTON OHIO.
