Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1940s-1950s penitentiary guard badge from Virginia. The badge reads SOUTHAMPTON PENITENTIARY FARM GUARD 51 and shows the seal of the State of Virginia at center.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s-1950s.

SIZE:

2-13/16" height and 1-3/4" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical Y pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
