Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1937 lapel pin for Phi Sigma Delta in 14 karat gold. Begun in 1909, the fraternity started a German student refugee program in 1937 as pre-war tensions developed. The reverse of the pin is engraved with the initials I.R.P.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1937.

SIZE:

Approximately 3/8" in height and 5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

14 karat gold (1.3 dwt) with semi-precious stones.

ATTACHMENT:

Diagonal pin with drop-in swivel locking catch, suspension loop.

MARKINGS:

37 I.R.P.
