ARTIFACT: This is a 1934 Nazi tinnie promoting the re-annexation of the Saar region. Saar is an area in Germany that was ruled jointly by the British and the French following the Treaty of Versailles, and then returned to Germany under popular pressure in 1935. The tinnie is octagonal and shows two hands shaking, one in a broken fetter. It reads Deutsch ist die Saar Des Deutschen ehre ist die treue (Saar is German; German honor is faithful).

VINTAGE: Circa 1934.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped copper-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: RK on front.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Nazi Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEL95 LCIX12/12

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tinnie shows only some light wear.
