ARTIFACT:
What we have here is a beautiful example of a 1930's - 1940's Nationalist Kuomintang China ARMY NAVY & AIR FORCE Medal, # 7412, with matching numbered Ribbon.
There is not a lot of information known about this medal. It was instituted 15 August 1929, and it is supposed to have come in 2 Classes, with each Class having 2 Grades, 1 and 2.
In what little reference there is out there, the RIBBON on this medal is that of the First Class, First Grade. Having the matching numbered Ribbon Bar is important here, so we know that the medal did indeed come with this particular ribbon, and it was not changed during some time in its existence, so we can safely assess it as being 1st Class.
BUT, there are more details that are missing, because there are images out there of this medal with the SAME Ribbon, BUT, having different background color enamel in the partial circles between the star points, AND, having different patterns and different enamel colors in the star points.
SO, while we can fairly safely say that this IS a 1st CLASS Medal, BUT, we do not really know which GRADE of 1st Class Medal this is, and there may be MORE than just the 2 Grades mentioned in currently available Reference,
So, in conclusion, what we have here is a circa 1930's - 1940's, Nationalist China ARMY NAVY & AIR FORCE Medal, # 7412, 1st Class, Unknown Grade, in gilt and enameled silver, with the Matching Numbered Ribbon Bar.
Hopefully more information will come to light soon to know exactly what Grade Medal we have here. Meanwhile, feel free to add this beautiful piece to your collection.

Medal: Gilt and enameled silver, silk ribbon brass hook & U-hasp. Ribbon Bar: Silk, Silvered steel and brass findings.
