Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s PAA wing. We believe it is an instructors wing. It is a modified 2nd Issue, Type 1 Pilot's hat badge added to an AAF Pilot wing.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930's - Early WWII.

SIZE:

About 2-3/4" in width by 15/16" in length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated sterling and sterling with enamel accents.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with a drop-in locking catch on the wing with a single screw post coming through from the hat badge.

MARKINGS:

On back of hat badge: 233 STERLING.

CONDITION:

7+ (Very Fine+): Minor wear and tarnishing; enamel is in excellent condition.
