ARTIFACT:
This is a 1930 Nazi tinnie for the Turnerbund Turnfest, or gymnastics festival, held that year at Brachet. The tinnie reads Turnverein Hall 1862 Schauturnen Brachet 30 Deutshcer Turnerbund. The coppery tinnie has an example of the rounded swastika at its center. It has a maker's mark on reverse.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 1-5/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Copper-plated brass, brass pin.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.
MARKINGS:
J. Schwertner Graz Eggenberg.
