Description
This is a circa 1920 single uniform shoulder board for the French Service Aronautique. This group was formed in 1909 and later became a branch in its own right in 1933, when it was renamed L'Arme de l'Air, or Army of the Air (Air Force). The board is for an unidentified rank. It bears a button and eagle of gilt brass and three stripes at the outermost end.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920.
SIZE:Approximately 5-5/16" in length and 2-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt wrapped cardboard, embroidery tape, gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Straps, button.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The shoulder board is in very good condition save for some areas of moderate wear/tarnish to the stripes.
