This is a circa 1916-1917 Company F, 1st Infantry Regiment United States Army Mexican Border Service collar disc. The Mexican Border Service was put into place in 1916 after interception of the Zimmermann Telegram, which revealed a German plot to infiltrate the United States through its southern border.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I (1916-1917).
SIZE:Approximately 1" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The disc shows some areas of light to medium wear and moderate tarnish.
